Fictional ASW Seaplane

A sketch of a fictional ASW amphibian I made for Atlantic Republic 
Starsky Oculus was initially designed as a catapult launched observation seaplane for naval ships, hence the two-engine layout and well glazed canopy to provide an exceptional field of view for the pilot/observer. The lack of power due to "economical" engines and problems with maneuverability prevented any orders. However, when several years later the Navy started looking for a cheap aircraft suitable for anti-submarine patrol duties the Starsky Aircraft Corporation stepped forward with a refined design of the same model. The new Oculus had modern engines and redesigned tail surfaces which not only solved the old problems but allowed for a much longer range and even a payload of two depth bombs. In addition the ship catapult compatibility was sacrificed in favor of amphibious landing gear making it possible for the aircraft to be operated from the shore. Thus the new and improved Oculus became the first ASW seaplane of the Atlantic Republic.
